Concentric explores the space where sculpture meets machinery. The piece uses 3 concentric rings spinning on axes at 90 degrees to each other. In the physical prototype, plywood rings rotate on shafts turned by the action of ball-chain drives, sliding on delrin tracks, engaged by mechanical sprockets.
